We are proud to announce that our C.E.O., Joan Waters, has been asked to serve on the board of the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce during the recent Annual Meeting.
Joan Waters responded to the request to serve on the board by saying, “It is an honor and a pleasure to be asked to serve. The Chamber is a very important, influential and successful advocate for the business community here in Philly.”
Two new board members were introduced at the Chamber’s 216th Annual Meeting which was well attended by nearly 1,500 members of the regional business community.
Chamber President & CEO, Rob Wonderling, 2014 – 2016 Chamber Board Chairman, along with Denis O’Brien, Senior Executive Vice President of Exelon Corporation / CEO of Exelon Utilities and incoming Board Chairman, John Fry, President of Drexel University, all spoke at the meeting.
After reviewing the business community’s accomplishments through the Chamber, speakers then addressed urgent steps necessary to maintain Philadelphia’s position as a modern city / region. Diversity and inclusion were seen as key factors in future business growth.
Guest keynote speaker, Brian L. Roberts, Chairman & CEO of Comcast was interviewed by NBC News White House Correspondent, Kristen Welker. He spoke of Comcast’s role in regional growth and innovation. Comcast sees their focus on customer service as an important part of attracting and retaining great talent. Roberts was extremely articulate, humble, genuine and very passionate about Philadelphia.
